A Little Help Can Make A Big Change.

Brief History

Brothers’ Keeper is a legalized, voluntary, youth-led, self-governing, non-profit, and apolitical organization established based on unity of interests to achieve the statutory goals and implement common legal rights and interests. We function largely using resources from members’ contributions and benefactors, and our activities could extend all over the national territory of Cameroon, but we currently give priority to the South West Region based on our means.

The Brothers Keeper Association has been existing since March 18th, 2018, with a membership of 13, and it has a current membership of 47. The organisation has a specific goal of assisting each other and impacting communities. Each year, we have a specific sector to which we extend our philanthropic activities.

Legal Status

We are a legal organization whose existence has been acknowledged by the competent authorities in Cameroon with a registration number:  1520/G.37/C84/VOL I/SAAJP.

Mission and Vision of the association

With the motto united for progress, our mission is to promote the empowerment of youths, women and indigenous communities for sustainable development and good governance.

Values and policies

We are apolitical, and we believe in the principles of good governance, equity, equality and self-sustenance, Responsibility, Service, and Public Mindedness.

Guiding objectives of Brothers Keepers

We seek to:

⦁ Cultivate a sense of unity, solidarity, and development among youth who are considered the leaders of tomorrow by instilling in them the core principles of good governance.
⦁ Responding to contemporary issues regarding the global commons by encouraging the conservation and rational use of resources as well as environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, and climate education
⦁ To engage in projects that will empower youths and communities, especially in the domains of equality, agriculture, health care, water supply, education, and environmental sustainability.

Organizational and leadership structure

Our activities are guided by the Executive Arm, the General Assembly (GA), the Project Committee, and other ad hoc committees that enable effective checks and balances and the smooth functioning of the organization.

The Executive arm

It is made up of the President, Vice President, Secretary General, Financial and Accounts Officer, Treasurer, General Organizer, Auditors, Project Coordinator, and Advisers. Mr. Ekwelle Hansel was Our Pioneer President (2018-2020), while the organisation is currently led by Mr. Enonegene Edwin Ewane (since 2021).

The General Assembly (GA)

The highest governing body of the organisation is the General Assembly, which consists of members, with each member having one vote at the General Assembly Meetings. The exclusive competence of the General Assembly of the organisation includes approving the statutes of the organisation and effecting amendments to the statutes of the organisation; electing the executive members and other positions the organisation sees necessary; determining the directions of the organization's activities; approving the activity reports of the executive and various committees; and approving all budgets.
